Incorrect :

Subject => Tom
Phrase "naming ....." does NOT matches the action of the Noun ( Tom ).

The way to correct it is to add a Relative Pronoun to correct it:
Tom , a cat , was purchased from pet shop by Jim , who named it Tom from Tom-and-Jerry series.
